Method 1: Run Outlook in Safe Mode

If your outlook windows get stuck or show ‘processing’, try accessing outlook in safe mode.
  • Close all outlook windows.
  • Head to the Start menu, then type exe /safe, and hit Enter.
  • Close Outlook.
  • Now, Restart Outlook to check if the error is resolved.
Note that the latest updated version of outlook will have no effect in safe mode, so if the issue still persists, then proceed to the next method. 

Method 2: Disable Add-ins and Macros

  • Exit Outlook and launch Run by pressing the Windows key+R.
  • Type Outlook safe in the search bar and then hit OK.
  • Note if Outlook stopped crashing.
  • Now, head to File>> Options>> Add-Ins.
  • Select COM Add-ins>> Go.
  • Click OK to clear all the checkboxes and restart Outlook.
If your outlook windows work fine, you have just caught the offender. With this method, you will be able to find which add-in was causing the error.

Follow these steps for each add-in until the outlook stops crashing and once you catch it, disable it permanently.

Method 3: Repair MS Office

  • Head to Control Panel>> Programs.
  • Now, select Uninstall a program.
  • Right-click on the Office installation and click on Change.
  • Select Online Repair and wait for the process to finish.
Once you are done, restart the ms office and check if the issue is resolved. 

Method 4: Repair Outlook Profile

  • Launch Microsoft Outlook >> File>> Account settings.
  • Now, click on account settings in the dropdown menu.
  • Select your Outlook account, and click on Repair.
  • Click the Next button.
  • Now proceed with the onscreen instructions for the account repair.
  • Re-launch your Microsoft Outlook account and check if it is working fine.
