TROUBLESHOOTING HOTMAIL NOT SYNCING WITH DEVICES

Hotmail is a well-known email service provided by Microsoft which can be freely used by people to connect. Equipped with several features and services, this email service can be conveniently used by people of all age groups. It can be easily set up and synced across all devices, but the problem arises when the “Hotmail Not Syncing” message pops up.

HOW TO FIX THE HOTMAIL NOT SYNCING ISSUE?

Since devices are different, so are their solutions. If applied in the correct manner, you will be able to resolve this error in no time. Choose the best method from those mentioned below depending upon your device.

 

1. For Windows: Repair the Microsoft Client

  • Open the Microsoft Outlook application and click on the File tab. From the info section, click on the Account Settings option. 

  • In the Account Settings window, select the Hotmail email account which is not getting synced, and click on the Repair option. 

  • After this, the Repair Account window will be displayed on the screen. Go to the Settings field and click on Next. 

  • Immediately, Outlook will start the Repair Account process which might take some time to get fixed completely.  


After completion, the network connections will be enabled. Log in to the server using the Hotmail account settings and check if it is working now. After the repair process is done, click on the Change account option and click on Next after checking the settings. Let Outlook test the email settings, after which it will display a confirmation message on the screen. Restart your Microsoft email client and see if the “Hotmail Not Syncing” issue has been resolved or not. 


2. For Android: Reset the email app

  • Click on the Settings option and go to Apps.

  • In the All Apps section, find the email app and email widget.

  • Open them and click on the Force Stop option. 

  • Click on Clear Cache to reset all improper email settings.


After this, re-sync your Hotmail account with the Outlook app. Or else, reinstall the app to eliminate all major malfunctions which have caused the “Hotmail Not Syncing” error. 

 

3. For iOS: Change the mail to sync

Most of the syncing issues on iOS occur due to improper time synchronization settings. For that, you need to reset it normally by:


  • Click on Settings and go to the Password and Account option.

  • Tap on the Hotmail Account option and tap on Mail Days to Sync. 

  • Choose the No Limit option and click on Back.
