  • Enter your mail address and password on the Online Account Options screen. Now click ‘Login.’
  • After logging in, click ‘Change Username, Passwords & Email account.’
  • Enter a new username and click Change.
  • In case you cannot remember your password, click on ‘I forgot my password’ and follow the steps on the screen.

2. Change the Email Address

Updating or changing the Windstream email is crucial to solving the login error. Follow these guidelines to change it.
  • Log in to the Windstream website and input your user ID and password.
  • Click the ‘Submit button.
  • Click on the option of ‘Edit Profile’ and input the new email address.
  • Now fill in your password and click ‘Submit.’

3. Resolve Problems in Your Server Settings

Find the correct incoming mail and outgoing mail server settings for your Windstream account. Ensure that you update settings accordingly.

Incoming server setting

  • Name of the server – imap.windstream.net
  • Port – SSL (993), otherwise it is 143.

Outgoing server setting

  • Name of the server – smtp.windstream.net
  • Port – SSL (465), otherwise it is 587.
  • Always ensure to click yes in Requires Authentication.
For proper functioning of the outgoing and incoming mail servers, you must verify your mail address and password. For it, you need to allow authentication permission.

4. Setting up Windstream Email Properly

You can face a login problem if you have not set up the Windstream email properly. Do it by following the given steps:
  • Click the Applications Tray and choose the ‘Email’ option.
  • Now, choose the option of ‘Add Account’ and input your Windstream.net email address and password.
  • After clicking the ‘Next’ button, select the account type of IMAP.
  • Enter the incoming server settings, then enter outgoing server settings.
